(ATR) For the first time in history the French Athletics Federation have signed a exclusive broadcast agreement with a major telecommunications partner.
The media company Altice Group/SFR will now control all rights of French athletics and broadcast platforms.
"This partnership agreement with SFR offers French athletes a new showcase after the fantastic results in the Rio Games," President of the FFA Bernard Amsalem said in a statement.
"It will shine a spotlight on all our sports disciplines like never before. It marks the start of a whole new adventure for French athletics, whose ambition will be all the stronger alongside a booming industrial group, which has rapidly made a name for itself as a major player in telecoms, media and sport. The FFA and SFR share a common desire for growth and development. Our partnership will provide each of us with an excellent opportunity to progress and grow."
Per their agreement, SFR will work to attract global markets and promote the federations events and national teams.
The agreement will be upheld until the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Budapest Now Has 12 Sponsors
Budapest 2024’s Bid Sponsorship Program, launched in June, is producing results.
The bid committee revealed this week that 12 organizations have pledged their support. All of the sponsors have strong ties with Hungary and Budapest and are helping the bid through "a mix of direct financial contributions and value in kind".
The sponsors include Audi, Budapest Airport, the Budapest Transport Company, the Centre for Budapest Transport, Gránit Pólus, GRAPHISOFT, Mid Ocean Brands, Provident Financial, Telekom, Wizz Air and Zwack.

Lacoste Joins Paris 2024 Bid
Lacoste is becoming the fourth official supplier of the Paris 2024 bid committee.
The iconic French sportswear company is already an official partner of France’s Olympic and Paralympic teams and was the supplier and designer of the country’s athletes at Rio 2016.
The founder of the company, French tennis champion Rene Lacoste, was a bronze medalist at the 1924 Games in Paris.
Lacoste is joining Air France, Groupe ADP and Societe du Grand Paris as an official supplier.
The Paris 2024 website lists 13 official partners.
Coca-ColaCompany Announce New CIO
Barry Simpson has been recently promoted to the new chief information officer of the Coca-Cola Company.
The graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors has worked in the IT industry for nearly 30 years including positions as the Coca-Cola Company's head of Global Business IT Services and the Coca-Cola Amatil Group.
"Given the significant amount of change under way as we transform our business for the future, it's important that we have an IT function positioned to protect our information technology and accelerate our growth around the world, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Coca-Cola Company," James Quincey said in a statement.
"Barry's proven experience leading change will ensure the IT function is a partner in driving innovation, simplification and efficiency to create value for our customers and consumers, and, importantly, create a better experience for our employees."
Simpson will be succeeding the late Ed Steinike, who worked as the Coca-Cola CIO for almost nine years before his death in July.
Coca-Cola also released its quarterly report this week. According to the report the company'sthird quarter profit fell by 28 percent from the same period last year. The company's latest quarterly income was $1.05 billion compared to last year's $1.45 billion. However, the growth of its water and sport drinks brands saw Coca-Cola's global volume rise one percent in the third quarter.
