There is good news coming from the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic House, as Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) president Diane Henderson reported most items have been recovered after a robbery there last week.
Last week Around the Rings reported a break in at the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic House which saw the TTOC’s computer server, national team uniforms and other items stolen.
“Thankfully, I can report that we have secured the server, allowing it to be functioning once again,” said Henderson.
“The providers were able to rebuild the server with parts left and it is functional. We’re back on stream and did not lose any information that would cause any impact.
“We are thankful to the providers, to all national authorities and Amalgamated Security for their swift action last week.”
There was no word if any suspects in the theft have been named or arrested.
Henderson also said the TTOC has plans to move their Olympic House away from their current location in Port of Spain.
“Papers have not been signed on the dotted line. I would prefer to just hold on (saying) where it is at this point in time, but it is coming, hopefully,” she said.
Henderson stressed security would be of vital importance in determining a new location, and said this move has been planned for a while and is not just a reaction to the recent break in. She is hopeful the move will happen later this year.
