
Anderson Peters, who was recently crowned javelin World Champion was reportedly attacked last week and thrown from a boat in his native Grenada.
Shortly after returning from the Commonwealth Games, where he won the silver medal, Peters was on ‘The Harbour Master’ - a pleasure boat owned by by the Trinidad and Tobago Trade Minister’s son - when a fight broke out onboard just before docking.
There were conflicting reports about what started the incident, but six Trinidadian men were arrested and the boat impounded.
Four of the six Trinidadians charged by The Royal Grenada police, were in court today and pled guilty to the charge of committing grievous harm on the world double Javelin champion and his brother Kiddon, before Chief Magistrate Teddy St Louis.

Peters, released a statement on his social media that he is feeling better and is expects to make a full recovery.
“Phew …! The past few days have been a rollercoaster for me — from being excited to return home after two great competitions, to being quickly ripped of such excitement replaced with pain and discomfort,” was posted on Peters’ social media. “I know that you’re all concerned about my well-being, so please, know that I’m feeling better than I was in the immediate aftermath.”
A video showing the incident has gone viral online. It shows Peters being beaten by several men on the boat and then being pushed overboard.
The Trinis who pled guilty were ordered by the Chief Magistrate to remain in custody until their sentencing, scheduled for Wednesday.
