
(ATR) Stock prices for Olympic sponsors in Asia, Europe and the U.S. are down after a rough week of trading worldwide.
Acer Inc., 2523 on the Taiwan exchange, started trading Monday at $34.70 Taiwan New Dollars and finished at $32.50 TWD. Converted into U.S. Dollars, that’s $1.20 and $1.12.
Panasonic Corporation is traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The stock, 67520, started the week just a little above 1300 yen, $16.93, and finished at $10.35 or 795 yen.
Samsung Electronics, which is traded on the Korea Stock Exchange as 005930, dropped off this week from 789,000 won, or $731.04, to 760,000 won, or $703.77.
Atos Origin is traded on the Paris Stock Exchange and had a low of 30.55 euros and a high of 33.95 euros, which is $43.35 and $48.34.
Omega, part of the Swatch Group, opened and closed at 396 Swiss Francs, $519.77. SIX, the Swiss Exchange, is closed on Friday, just like the Paris exchange.
The Dow Chemical Company (DOW) began Monday at $28.76 and ended trading for the week on Thursday at $29.43. High price was $29.43, $26.75 the low.
KO, The Coca-Cola Company, started at $66.79 on Monday and closed at $67.14. Coke's high and low prices were $67.15 and $63.74.
McDonald’s, listed as MCD on the New York Stock Exchange, started trading Monday at $84.10, ending at $86.50.MCD had a low at the end on Monday of $82.09.
Visa (V) started the week at $79.07and ended at $83.83. Prices hit $76.68 for its low.
The price for General Electric began and ended at $15.88. The high was $16.09 on Monday and the low was $14.85 on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones Summer/Winter Games Index (DJOLX) finished on Friday at $134.59 and started on Monday at $131.95. DJOLX includes the performance of publicly traded securities of official partners, sponsors or suppliers of the London 2012 Olympics.
