Sapporo, Japan, January 3, 2017: The 8th Sapporo Asian Winter Games Organising Committee (SAWGOC) has announced that tickets for the 2017 Sapporo Asian Winter Games, which will run from February 19 to 26, 2017, are now available on sale.
Tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies and all competitions with admission charges can be purchased online at the official ticket site http://sapporo2017.org/en/ticket-en.
Popular music group DREAMS COME TRUE, singers of the official theme song for the Games, will perform a 30-minute concert as part of the opening ceremony, and the closing ceremony will feature the gala exhibition performed by top class figure skaters.
General admission for opening ceremony is 1,500 JPY (13 USD), Category A 3,000 JPY (26 USD), Category S 4,000 JPY (34 USD) and Arena seat will be 8,000 JPY (68 USD).
Closing ceremony and figure skating ticket prices are Category B 3,000 JPY (26 USD), Category A 5,000JPY (42.5 USD), Category S 7,000 JPY (60 USD), Category SS 9,000 JPY (77 USD).
Other competitions requiring 500 JPY (4.25 USD) tickets include ski jumping, cross-country skiing, snowboard half pipe, biathlon, ice hockey, short track speed skating. Curling competition ticket prices are 1,500 JPY (13 USD) for an adult fare and 500 JPY (4.25 USD) for child.
The 8th Asian Winter Games Sapporo 2017 features a total of five sports, 11 disciplines and 64 events at 11 competition venues in Sapporo and the speed skating events in Obihiro.
Athletes and officials from 31 countries and regions are expected to come together to showcase a variety of winter sports.
Events with admission charges
Opening ceremony, closing ceremony, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, snowboard half pipe, biathlon, ice hockey men’s top division, women’s tournament and men’s division I, curling, short track speed skating, and figure skating. The final day of figure skating and the closing ceremony are included on the same ticket.
Events with free admission
Alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboard giant slalom, snowboard slalom, ice hockey; Men’s Division II& III and speed skating.
