
(ATR) Olympic speed skater Zhang Hong has voiced her support for Beijing andZhangjiakou's jointbid for the 2022 Winter Games.
China Central Television reports the Beijing 2022 team is"trying to bring in some big names to helps its candidacy."
Together, Beijing and Zhangjiakouare vying against Oslo, Norway and Almaty, Kazakhstan to host the 2022 Olympics.
"I really hope Beijing and Zhangjiakou can have a successful bid," Zhang Hong said in a statement."I believe we will achieve our goal in the bidding process because so many people in our country, are putting in great efforts.
"I am now training very hard for the Pyeongchang Winter Games, and I will continue to put in my effort to help the development of speed skating in China."
The IOC will choose a host city for the 2022 Winter Olympics on July 31, 2015 at the 127th IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
