Euro 2012 transitions from pool play to knockout rounds this week in Poland and the Ukraine.
Group A was the first to wrap up Saturday followed by Group B on Sunday. Group C comes to a close Monday and Group D on Tuesday.
Only the top two finishers from each will live on into the latter half of the week.
Quarterfinals are slated for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Warsaw, Donetsk, Gdansk and Kiev.
Semis are scheduled for June 27 and 28 with the final to follow July 1.
London 2012 Festival
Thursday’s opening concert to the London 2012 Festival officially launches the 12-week series of 12,000 events during the Games.
Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel will lead upwards of 300 musicians in a special outdoor performance from Stirling, Scotland that will be broadcast by BBC Four, BBC Radio Scotland and 22 live sites across the U.K.

U.S. Olympic Trials
USA’s largest Olympic teams start to take shape this week at the trials for USA Track & Field.
Events begins Thursday and end July 1 at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
Trials for swimming run June 25 through July 2 with gymnastics to follow June 28 to July 1.
Together, those three teams accounted for 64 of USA’s table-topping 110 total medals at Beijing 2008.
Olympic Day Celebrations
Bid cities, NOCs, organizing committees and sports enthusiasts worldwide will observe Olympic Day on June 23, the day the IOC was founded in 1894.
The occasion is remembered annually throughout the Olympic Movement with parties, promotions and, most often, fun runs ranging from 5k to a full marathon.
