Coverage begins Sunday, 20 January from La Thuile, Italy

The FIS Telemark World Cup 2019 season kicks off in the Italian resort of La Thuile for the second year in a row. Competition begins on Sunday, 20 January with the Sprint event and continues on Monday, 21 January with the Classic event.
Following stops include Pralognan-la-Vanoise, France, Ban Hindelang/Oberjoch, Germany, Krvavec, Slovenia, and Pra Loup, France before the World Cup finals in Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland from 1-3 March. Following the World Cup season, the telemark world champion will be crowned a the FIS World Ski Championships 2019 which take place in Rjukan, Norway from 20-23 March.
Highlighting the season are veterans Argeline Tan-Bouquet (FRA), Johanna Holzmann (GER), Nicolas Michel (SUI) and Trym Nygaard Loeken (NOR).
Telemarking is the oldest FIS sport to have competitive racing, which combines the elements of Alpine and Nordic skiing. The name "Telemark" comes from the region of the same name in Norway, where the sport originated.
