European Olympic Committees (EOC) Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi continued his tour of venues over the third and fourth days of competition at the Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Erzurum, highlighting the collaboration between the Organising Committee and the event’s stakeholders as playing a crucial part in bringing the event to life.
The Italian was accompanied by warm weather on his tour of the Biathlon and Cross-Country venues, with the Turkish sun only being outshone by Luxembourg’s Peter Murphy who won his nation’s first ever Winter EYOF medal in short track speed skating when winning gold.
Commenting on the Biathlon and Cross-Country venues, EOC Secretary General Pagnozzi commented:
"The high standard that we see at these venues is typical of the high standard seen across all Erzurum 2017’s venues. This consistent quality is very impressive and shows that the Organising Committee has done a great job and has worked effectively with the sports federations and other stakeholders to deliver this event according to a very tight timeline."
