(ATR) Israeli security firm ISDS is the latest Tier 3 sponsor for the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Rio 2016 confirmed that ISDS will provide IT systems and security integration for security planning for the Games. The organizing committee said that the firm won a competition to be the supplier for the category
A Rio 2016 Tier 3 sponsorship tends to run in the range of $10 million, much lower than the $2.2 billion figure reported by Israeli magazine IsraelDefense.
ISDS consulted on security at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, multiple FIFA World Cups, and the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro.
"As seen in the media around the world, the security in Brazil is a challenge," Ron Shafran, vice president of ISDS, told IsraelDefense.
"All teams are working on preparing the sector, from constructing a security concept to constructing the technological systems to be installed in the facilities of the competitions and all the logistical facilities, located in Rio and in four other regions throughout Brazil."
Other Tier 3 sponsors for Rio 2016 include EF Education First, Nielsen, Nike, Manpower Group, and Technogym.
