(ATR) Vladimir Putin and dozens of IOC members are among the guests who’ve been entertained so far at USA House in Sochi Olympic Park. It’s the first time there has been a USA House in an Olympic Park; it hosts about 500 guests per day.
The 10,000 s/f wood slab building is one of the largest NOC houses in the park. It is both fully sustainable and re-useable. U.S. broadcaster NBC and a TeamUSA shop share the facility.
The house is by invitation only. More than 50 events are planned in addition to the IOC reception and visit by Putin. Earlier this week it was the site of the Airweave sponsorship announcement. There is activation in-house from AT&T, BMW, Citibank, Deloitte, Nike, Ralph Lauren and USG.
Some 60 IOC members turned out for the reception earlier this week. Among the guests were Alexander Zhukov of Russia, elected to the IOC in September; new IOC pres. Thomas Bach; and all four IOC members from the US: Anita DeFrantz, Jim Easton, Larry Probst and Angela Ruggiero.
