CoSport, the Rio 2016 Authorized Ticket Reseller in the United States, invites Team USA fans to take part in their next opportunity to secure Individual Tickets to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Beginning at 10 a.m. ET Tuesday, May 19 via cosport.com, Individual Ticket sales will reopen on a first come, first served basis. Available inventory will include any excess tickets from the initial request phase, including tickets that were confirmed but not purchased.
The ticket demand during the initial request phase rivalled that of both the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games with track and field, swimming, beach volleyball, and artistic gymnastics among the most popular sports requested.
"The significant demand expressed through the initial ticket request phase confirmed without a doubt that Rio will be the place to be in August 2016," said CoSport President Robert F. Long. "CoSport is working closely with the United States Olympic Committee and Rio 2016 to secure additional ticket inventory so as many American fans as possible can make the journey to Rio."
Due to the high demand and strictly limited starting inventory, CoSport will continue to request additional tickets from the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee. Approximately 7.5 million tickets for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be made available for sale, though only a fraction will be accessible to fans outside Brazil. Team USA fans should visit cosport.com regularly for the most up to date information on ticket availability, including sales timeline.
Fans seeking the convenience of guaranteed event tickets combined with accommodation in Rio should also consider CoSport’s Hotel and Ticket Package options that are offered in a number of configurations and include a wide range of in-demand event ticket options, 3 or 4 star accommodations, daily breakfast, and invaluable support from purchase through departure by the experienced CoSport team and knowledgeable local hosts.
All CoSport offerings for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games are exclusively available through cosport.com.
