(ATR) The World Wildlife Fund will advise the Paris 2024 Olympic bid on best sustainability practices.
The bid announced the partnership on May 3, which was brokered by WWF France President Isabelle Autissier, who was the first woman to complete a solo around the world sail in 1991. Autissier will head up the Paris 2024 Committee for Environmental Excellence as part of the arrangement.
Paris 2024 co-chairman Tony Estanguet, a member of the IOC Sustainability and Legacy Commission, said in a statement that sustainability practices are in "the very DNA of the bid". He cited bid plans such as the cleanup of the River Seine as an example to the commitment to this promise.
"The agreement with WWF France will allow us to deliver a project integrating new infrastructure with temporary and existing venues with a sharp focus on renewable energy, sustainable mobility, food and waste management and preservation of biodiversity," Estanguet added in a statement.
"We aim to deliver a Games that has a positive impact up on the lives of French people. Paris 2024 is the catalyst for this process."
Over 100 Hours of Golf Coverage from NBC
The Golf Channel will show 130 live hours of competition during the 2016 Olympics.
United States Olympic broadcast rights holder NBC announced the sport’s broadcast schedule on May 3. As part of the schedule, NBC will cover the men’s and women’s tournaments live in-full, while providing wrap-up shows and highlights.
Golf is returning to the Olympics for the first time since 1904 during the 2016 Games. Viewers in the United States will be able to watch the tournament on the Golf Channel, online at NBCOlympics.com, and on mobile devices through NBC Live Extra.
The network says that in total over 300 hours of coverage will be dedicated to the sport of Golf from Aug. 11-14 and 17-20.

"We’ve got an entire NBC Sports division serving the sport’s loyal fans with dedicated coverage that will showcase the athletes taking advantage of what could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent their country and golf on this global stage."
