(ATR) SportAccord on Thursday confirmed the International University Sports Federation (FISU) as the first Gold Partner to sign-up for SportAccord 2020.
The 18th edition of the annual SportAccord event is set for April 19-24 of next year at the China National Convention Center in Beijing.
"We’re delighted to welcome FISU onboard as a Gold Partner for the first time," Nis Hatt, Managing Director of SportAccord, said in a statement.
"Their commitment and investment demonstrate that the SportAccord platform provides excellent visibility for international sports federations, particularly at this level."
FISU, founded in 1949, organizes world-class sports and educational events for university students, including the Summer and Winter Universiades - the largest global multi-sports events for university athletes.
"SportAccord 2020 in Beijing is set to be a confirmation of just how important China has become to the world of sport," Paulo Ferreira, Director General for FISU said.
"It is a city that FISU has a great affinity for, with the Summer Universiade having been hosted in Beijing in 2001."
Chengdu in China is the host city for the 2021 Summer Universiade, and was officially awarded the 2025 World Games during SportAccord 2019.
Organizations interested in attending SportAccord in Beijing can now register and take advantage of the pre early bird rate ($1,500) available for a limited period only.

Women's Football on Soccerex Europe Agenda
Soccerex Europe’s program agenda will include timely topics concerning the world’s most popular sport.
"Making a Breakthrough – The Rise of Women’s Football" follows on the success of the Women’s World Cup in France earlier this summer while "Football’s Changing Transfer Market" will come on the heels of the latest transfer window in Europe.
Soccerex Europe will be in Oeiras, Portugal on September 5-6.
Among the featured speakers at the event are President of the Portuguese Football Federation Fernando Gomes and Laura Georges, general secretary of the French Football Federation.

VISTA 2019 Program Details
The ninth edition of the conference for sports scientists and experts in Para sport will take place from September 4-7 in Amsterdam.
It is organized through a partnership between the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Amsterdam Institute of Sport Science (AISS).
The schedule includes five workshops offered during the morning of Sept. 4, before the opening ceremony kicking off VISTA 2019.
The topics range from statistical learning techniques for classification research, to testing wheelchair athletes on the latest technological equipment. The workshops will be user-pay and on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Symposium topics on day two include counter measuring heat in athletes; equipment and technology in Para sports; and classification research. The day will conclude with an informal outing in Amsterdam for more networking opportunities.
Day three encompasses more presentations and symposium regarding athlete health and well-being, athlete preparation, and injury prevention and protection.
The conference will wrap up on Sept. 7 with a lighter schedule that invites attendees to join practical sessions regarding athlete health, technology and classification.
Around 300 of the world’s leading sports scientists, sport medicine practitioners, classifiers, coaches, athletes and sport administrators are expected to attend the conference.
VISTA is designed to promote and advance the mission, goals, objectives and reputation of the IPC while providing a platform for the academic world to meet with athletes and professional experts in the field of sport for athletes with an impairment.
