(CHASKA, Minn.) – The Chaska Curling Center, the city of Chaska and USA Curling today announced that the Chaska Curling Center has been named the USA Curling National Training Center. The partnership went into effect last fall and will run through July 30, 2019, with the intent for all parties to review the first season at that time with an eye toward a longer term arrangement.
The partnership provides the USA Curling High Performance Program (HPP) and Development Program access to the six-sheet facility for practices, camps and other events. "We are delighted to have Chaska Curling Center as our new National Training Center," USA Curling Director of High Performance Derek Brown said. "It is an amazing facility with world-class ice and ice makers, which is essential for our HP athletes to have access to for training. We are looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Chaska."
Additionally, the Chaska Curling Center will have opportunities to host national events with USA Curling, community-accessible events and a summer junior curling camp.
Chaska Curling Center Manager Jeff Isaacson said the staff is looking forward to showcasing the high-quality ice at the Curling Center and seeing the impact the partnership will have locally.
"The exposure from this partnership will be a great benefit to the Chaska community, our members and our junior programs," Isaacson added.
